As the cultivated meat industry and its projections grow, more celebrities have joined in funding the companies behind this technology. UPSIDE Foods has seen support from Bill Gates and a partnership with Atelier Crenn’s Michelin star chef Dominique Crenn. Ashton Kutcher has invested in MeaTech 3D. Actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCarprio has participated in funding rounds for Aleph Farms, Mosa Meat, and VitroLabs Inc., and was joined earlier this year by Robert Downey Jr.'s FootPrint Coalition and Bezos Expeditions in supporting cultivated seafood company Wildtype.
