Lab-grown meat not only for human consumption; sustainable cat food on the horizon

US-based start-up, Because, Animals, announced their plans to launch the first-ever cultivated meat cat food, produced from the cells of mice. According to the company's CEO, Sharon Falconer, the objective in developing this evolutionarily appropriate diet is to reduce the allergen concerns commonly attributed to traditional cat food made from beef and chicken. The initial release of cultivated mouse meat cat food is slated for 2022 in the US, with future expansion into European and Asian markets.
