Magic Valley and Co-Labs Join Forces to Advance Cultivated Meat

Magic Valley, an Australian-based cultivated meat startup, is expanding its production to an advanced pilot facility in cooperation with Co-Labs, an innovation and co-working laboratory in Melbourne. This expansion will broaden Magic Valley's production capacity to 3,000L bioreactors, resulting in 150,000 kg of cultivated product annually.

“Magic Valley remains committed to collaboration with experts and researchers to refine production processes, ensuring top-tier quality and delicious taste while reducing the environmental impact of traditional meat production.” - Magic Valley on social media.

This newly settled collaboration facilitated the development of a scalable platform to grow any type of meat, such as cultivated beef, lamb, and pork, without fetal bovine serum, a typically expensive ingredient used during cultured meat production. In line with its affordability goals, Magic Valley signed an agreement this year with Biocellion SPC, a US software developer, and computer modeling company, to drive innovations in bioreactor technology and scale the production of cultivated meat.

"By pioneering this industry, Australia can position itself as a global leader in sustainable food solutions, thereby augmenting its export income. This innovative industry could significantly contribute to Australia’s economic growth, simultaneously fortifying its international reputation as a champion of sustainability." - Samuel Wines, co-founder of Co-Labs.
