Japan’s Health Ministry Takes Steps Towards Cultivated Meat Regulations

Japan’s Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry announced it is assembling a team of experts to study the safety of cultivated meat and its effects on human health. These findings will be revealed in a report later and will be used to assist in developing regulations for the product. This comes months after Nissin Foods Holdings Co. and researchers at the University of Tokyo developed the country’s first edible cultivated meat.
