Report Finds Canadian Interest in Cultivated Meat "Dramatically Increased"

The Canadian Food Innovation Network and data science company Fiddlehead Technology have recently issued "Canadian Food Tech Trends: Interest and Curiosity in Cellular Food Continues to Grow," a report to provide insight into the acceptance of cultivated meat in Canada. The report found that interest in the novel product has jumped dramatically since 2000. Academic papers on the topic and patent applications for the technology have increased along with the number of Canadian companies producing cultivated meat. While Singapore and the United States already have regulatory approval for the sale of cultivated meat, the current Canadian approval process is lengthy.

Researcher Dr. Chris Bryant provides insight on the acceptance of cultivated meat in the UK and other developing countries in this article.
