A recent survey found that consumers prefer cultivated meat over other alternative proteins for filet mignon, jerky, burgers, and nuggets. Participants said they purchased alternative proteins because they are healthier (42%), taste better (35%), and are better for animals or the environment (29%). GenZ showed the most interest in alternative proteins. The survey found that of GenZ respondents, 87% would try a meat alternative, 62% support a meat tax to reduce consumption, and 71% support the government subsidizing meat alternatives. Research was conducted by Veylinx which uses a Nobel prize-winning approach to gathering data.
