India’s Population Prime for Cultivated Meat

A report shows 50% of India’s population of 1.39 billion are open to trying cultivated meat, and 60% would be willing to pay a premium for meat alternatives that are tasty and healthy. Good Food Institute and CIIE.CO found that with support from the government and industry, cultivated meat could strengthen India’s national food security. India is currently home to two cultivated meat startups Myoworks and ClearMeat, which filed a patent for its cell-based technology, the first of its kind in the country.
