The cultivated meat industry realized substantial growth in 2020, with 76 companies raising a total of more than $360 million globally, a six-fold increase over 2019 figures. Still, GFI stresses that government investment in research and development will be critical to accelerating the cultivated meat industry's growth and achieving global climate goals.
