For the first time ever, the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs’ Five Year Agricultural Plan includes cultivated meat! The Chinese government has invested funds into several cultivated meat research projects in the last few years indicating that the field is of national interest. China is the world’s largest market for meat, and a recent study has shown that 90% of Chinese consumers would eat cultivated meat and 30% would make it their primary source of protein.
