The alternative seafood sector makes up a large share of the growing cultivated market, raising $178 million between January and mid-July this year. Most of this funding has gone to Wildtype Foods, with the startup receiving $100 million from a Series B1 round this February.
Continual funding enables industry leaders to improve and scale the production process, decreasing the time and cost required to create cultivated meat. With financial opportunities to expand product development, we continue getting closer to an efficient, accessible, and sustainable solution to our current food system.
